Greetings, I’m Michal Trnka, and I’d like to share a bit of my journey with you.

Early Inspiration

I was born in Czechoslovakia (now known as The Czech Republic) back in 1975. My journey into the world of creativity and photography began at a young age of 13 when I stumbled upon mesmerizing black and white video clips, particularly music videos by the iconic Anton Corbijn. The artistry and the captivating beauty of those images ignited a passion within me. It was then that I picked up my camera and started capturing moments – my family, friends, and the world around me. Little did I know that this initial spark would grow into a lifelong devotion to photography.

Technical School and the Eye for Design

Between 1989 and 1993, I attended the Technical School – Design and Technology in Trebic. During those formative years, I delved deep into the world of design and technology, honing my eye for aesthetics and an unwavering attention to detail. These skills would go on to become invaluable assets in my photographic journey.

Casinos and Travel

My career led me to various beautiful cities across the Czech Republic within the vibrant casino industry. Each city’s unique character provided me with endless opportunities to refine my photographic skills.

In 2000, I embarked on an exciting adventure and lived in Tel Aviv, Israel, for two years. This experience fueled my photographic obsession as I captured the everyday beauty of life in Israel. The rich culture, diverse landscapes, and the unique spirit of Tel Aviv left an indelible mark on my photographic style.

United Kingdom Bound

In 2005, I made the United Kingdom my new home and continued to progress in my career. However, it was in 2010 that I decided to take a significant step towards my true passion – photography. I enrolled in a year-long course at Cavendish College in London. The course was an immersive journey into the world of photography, and I was delighted to earn an Edexcel BTEC Level 4 HNC Diploma in Photography with credit.

Freelance Photographer

Since 2011, I’ve proudly embraced the role of a freelance photographer. My journey in photography has encompassed a wide array of styles and genres, but I’ve developed a particular affinity for portraiture. Whether it’s capturing the essence of people, the charm of animals, or exploring the abstract, I find joy in every facet of photography.

My Approach

I firmly believe in crafting beautiful images while fostering a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for my subjects. It’s my belief that the most genuine and captivating moments are born when individuals feel comfortable and at ease. That’s why, with every click of my camera, I aim to create a memorable experience, not just a photograph.
